Every year the City and Waterfront Awards truly celebrate the fantastic businesses that make up Plymouth’s diverse economy. It means even more as it is the public who nominate and then vote for their favourite businesses to progress.

We are thrilled to have been nominated in the category- Best Accommodation Provider / Hotel. There are so many brilliant businesses, the Awards really showcase what Britain’s Ocean City has to offer! We work very hard to celebrate everything that is taking place in Plymouth (big and small!), we want local residents to know what is happening on their doorstep and we want to attract visitors to showcase what we are so proud of. We use local suppliers, engage with the local community and spearhead campaigns that we believe will impact the city and leave a great legacy in years to come. The Duke has played an important role in the city’s history and we take great steps to make sure we are a positive part of its future, leading the way ahead of Mayflower 400.

The Awards also give individuals, new businesses and events the opportunity to be recognised. We are extremely proud that Nigel Voisey, the founder of Titanic and the City of Plymouth has been recognised for bringing the story of the Titanic and Plymouth into the limelight. Nigel held his fantastic Titanic and White Star Line Exhibition at the hotel in 2016 and it was a huge success, it is a story that captures people’s hearts. Please vote for Nigel and the exhibition in the Best Event (fewer than 5000 visitors) category. And on that note if you missed our announcement the next Exhibition is set to be bigger and better in January 2018, click here to visit our event page. Nigel is simply amazing at what he does, his dedication and passion for the subject are second to none and we cannot think of a more deserving winner! If you didn’t make the last Exhibition click here to see the footage from January’s event.

With so many excellent organisations to choose from please make sure you use your vote. Grab a cuppa (it doesn’t take long) and click here to visit the City and Waterfronts Award website and place your vote today.

We wish all of the nominees the best of luck, we are proud to be placed with such talented businesses from across the city.
