Golden Tickets, Golden Eggs and a Gold Award for Toni!

As a patron of the Devon Chamber of Commerce, we were honoured to hold their annual Award ceremony at the Duke last month. The Ballroom and Restaurant were transformed into Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, with chocolate fountains, lollipop centrepieces and Willy Wonka himself! The room was lit beautifully with atmospheric purple lighting adding the finishing touch. It was fantastic to welcome Jonty Depp as Willy Wonka, who entertained the crowds for the evening and posed for photos with attendees. We could not have been prouder when our wonderful Wedding Coordinator Toni Sharpe won the Rising Star Award! We are all thrilled for Toni and cannot think of anyone more deserving. She is extremely hard working and dedicated, which teamed with her enthusiasm for the role makes her a real asset! Here she is with Willy Wonka and her Award on the night!

It was fantastic to see so many fabulous businesses in one room, showcasing the very best of what Devon has to offer. There were ten categories, which were all narrowed down to three or four finalists, with winners announced on the night. Amongst those that won were Plymouth City College who were given the award for Excellence in Customer Services for their continued commitment and focus to their students, their primary customer and Plymouth City Bus who were presented with the award for Large Business of the Year as a result of making a significant positive contribution to the local business community. As a result of winning, Plymouth City Bus will be invited to enter the British Chamber of Commerce Awards for 2017 to be in with a chance to be recognised on a national level.
