Celebrating a Year of Events at the Yard

Thursday 9th February, 2017|Category: News

The Royal William Yard is home to a wealth of restaurants, retailers and bars. The Yard has brought so much to the city with people travelling from far and wide to attend lots of fabulous events including the popular monthly Good Food Market. We loved attending these events last year, there is always an amazing atmosphere with a great variety of locally sourced produce from all around the county, it is definitely one to watch for any food lovers!

With such a diverse event calendar and stunning views, it is clear to see why it is now known as ‘one of Plymouth’s premier cultural destinations’.

The following event information has been provided by the team at the Yard, with all images courtesy of Onshore. It is an exciting year ahead with lots of fabulous family events, we hope you are as excited as us!

New this year is The Royal William Yard Festival which is set to attract thousands. This will be a multi stage festival, showcasing the very best music, local food and culture. The entire Yard will be brought to life from the classic cars on the green and classic boats in the harbour all the way through to a main evening stage in the Factory Cooperage. We will still be hosting all of our regular events and activities in 2017 such as our locally Famous Good Food Market, Yard Yoga, Yard Fit and Yard Acoustic Sessions curated by Andy Quick and others.

Please see the list of key events to be hosted at the Yard this year. The dates and timings below maybe subject to change and we do have even more events in the pipeline!

Markets make up an important part of the changing, vibrant nature of the Yard – our regular markets deliver great produce and fine skilled craft, popping up all over the Yard and delivering seasonal extravaganzas.

Last year we enjoyed so many Yard events, but the one that truly blew our mind was the Weekend of Wonders, the acts are incredibly talented and brought amazing shows that our team had never seen before. It is definitely worth getting this date in your diary, come rain or shine the performers will impress!!

We will have hard copies of the Yard guide at the hotel so do pick one up when passing.

We love being at the heart of Britain’s Ocean City, if you live further afield why not make a weekend trip and experience all that Plymouth has to offer, we have romantic rooms for couples who fancy a cheeky weekend break, or we have family rooms to accommodate everyone.

Plymouth is the place to be in 2017, look out for our blog on Pirate Weekend next week…!
