South West Wedding Awards Finalist
Another month, another awards ceremony for the Duke! This time, we’ve appeared as finalists in the South West’s most prestigious wedding awards. The Duke was on the shortlist along with four other establishments from across the region for the title of best town-based wedding venue at the 2018 South West Wedding Awards.
We offer our congratulations to the lovely Tregenna Castle Hotel in St Ives, which took the top prize in the category. Of course, it’s an award we would love to have claimed for ourselves. But we’re honoured to be counted among the cream of the region’s wedding venues. This is a highly competitive category which covers locations stretching from the western reaches of Cornwall to as far east as Dorset and Gloucester. So reaching the finals is a proud achievement.
We’re thankful to the South West Wedding Awards for making us welcome and putting on a great show. The glitzy ceremony took place at the Crowne Plaza hotel here in Plymouth and it was lovely to see the spotlight shining on professionals who are dedicated to making other people’s celebrations special. The awards recognise excellence across a wide spectrum of wedding-related services, including cake design, floristry, photography, entertainment and many more besides. It was a pleasure to see lots of familiar faces, including the wonderful Meg from Mimosa, who won the title of New Wedding Business of the Year. Plus, the lovely ladies from Anon Design were awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Wedding Stationery category (both pictured below).
