Drake Circus Charity Stand Up Paddle Board

28th June, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Are you looking for a fun way to support a local charity – how about three?! Following the success of the Drake Circus virtual kayak, St Luke’s Hospice, Shekinah and Mount Batten Centre Charity Trust have come together to create another fun event. Teams of four will participate in a series of stand up Paddleboard challenges which will be followed by a Barbecue for just £25.00 each. This fabulous event not only sounds like a lot of fun, but also raises money for three deserving local charities. For full details, please click here.

The following details were provided by the event organisers.

Three local charities are coming together again to host a SUPer evening of fun on the water with a Charity SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding) Night.

The event, being held at the Mount Batten Watersports & Activities Centre, will be a fun way to raise funds for three local charities, bought together as each are the Drake Circus nominated charities of the year.

St Luke’s Hospice, Shekinah and the Mount Batten Centre Charity Trust have already held their first combined charity event, a virtual kayak from Plymouth to Roscoff, which was successfully completed in the Drake Circus atrium recently.

Sam Waites, Activities Manager at the Mount Batten Centre says “We have a range of combined activities, challenges and events planned this year as the nominated Drake Circus charities. Our Charity SUP Night is going to be a fun few hours where teams of family, friends and work colleagues can get involved and have some ‘SUPer’ fun on the water whilst raising money for the charities at the same time.”

The Charity SUP Night is a team event and will be held using the Centre’s giant SUP boards for a range of SUP challenges and races. Teams need to be between four and six people and team members must be aged 11 upwards. The cost to enter is £25 per person, which includes all relevant equipment and a BBQ after the event.

Soo Brizell, Head of Strategic Partnerships & Contracts adds “Shekinah is delighted to have the opportunity of sharing this fun event with the Mount Batten Centre and St Luke’s Hospice. This will be a fun-filled evening and at the same time raise vital funds for the charities and awareness of what we do in the city.”

The event starts at 6pm on Wednesday 28th June at the Mount Batten Watersports & Activities Centre. To register a team please complete the booking details below, call 01752 404567 or email enquiries@mount-batten-centre.com.
