Wednesday 20th April, 2016|Category: News
At The Duke of Cornwall Live last year we offered every couple the chance to win a Vintage Experience with us and on the 16th April we welcomed our winners, the beautiful Jess and her handsome husband-to-be David to The Duke of Cornwall Hotel, for a Vintage Experience before their wedding day. To start their day they were picked up in a classic Rolls Royce provided by The Windsor Carriage Company and chauffeur driven to the hotel. They were met by our front of house team with a glass of champagne and escorted to The Lounge, where they were able to relax in our comfy Chesterfield sofas. All before being whisked off ...

Live Concert Series: Sehyogue Aulakh

Wednesday 13th April, 2016|Category: News
Today, as part of the Jeanie Moore concert series, we welcomed Sehyogue Aulakh to The Duke of Cornwall Hotel. This 14 year old girl (yes 14!) is a student at Wells Cathedral School studying as a specialist percussionist. Music is a great passion of hers and having played piano from a young age she has recently turned to percussion; with a particular love of tuned percussion. We had 10 minutes with her over a cup of tea before her performance to say good luck and get to know this astonishingly talented girl; The Marimba is such a beautiful instrument but there are so many percussion instruments to choose from, why this one? It's a long story...when I was younger I played the piano and then Viola. I ...

Golden Memories at The Duke

Wednesday 30th March, 2016|Category: Weddings
50 years ago this lovely couple had their wedding reception here at The Duke of Cornwall Hotel, this month they returned to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary! When asked how their return to The Duke was: "The hotel is exactly how we remembered it - apart from the revolving doors, they are new. We stayed in a lovely suite that our boys booked for us, the food was lovely and we couldn't fault a thing. We chose the hotel for our reception simply because it is such an iconic hotel, even back then and it has stood the test of time - how wonderful to be a part of such history" They met at a dance hall ...
