Barbican Christmas Light Switch On

On Sunday 26 November, the Christmas Celebrations will be taking place on The Barbican and Sutton Harbour.

Get into the Christmas spirit, where the fun starts at 12pm with a spectacular stage programme hosted by Radio Plymouth, comprising of performances from local community groups, theatre groups and schools throughout the day.

Await the exciting arrival of Santa and his Elf who will be travelling by RNLI Lifeboat to The Barbican to join the Lord Mayor on The Parade for the official lights switch on at 4pm, shortly followed by the best dressed elf competition.

Meet Santa’s Reindeer and owls, wander the array of community stalls and admire the beautifully decorated Christmas Tree as you celebrate Christmas down at Plymouth’s stunning waterfront.

1pm to 1.25pm Holy Cross Primary School

1.30 to 1.55pm Ocean City Sound

2 to 2.25pm Starlines Theatre School

2.30 to 2.55pm Plymouth Mayflower Chorus

3 to 3.25pm Italia Conti

3.30 to 3.55pm University of Plymouth Student Choir

4pm Santa arrives at Cap’n Jaspers’ steps followed by Lord Mayors speech, City Laureate Thom Boulton, Young City Laureate Lola Beal, Lights Switch on and Best Dressed Elf Competition winner

4.30 to 5pm Plym Kids

Park and Ride Bus Services

Stagecoach will be operating Park & Ride buses on the 5 Sundays on the build up to Christmas this year.

Services will run from the George Junction P & R with the first departure at 09.00 and then every 15 minutes with the last departure from Royal Parade at 17.30. Services from The George Junction call at the Milehouse site en route to/from city centre.

The new Sunday buses will commence on Sunday 26th November and then every Sunday up to and including Christmas Eve, 24th December
