Plymouth Seafood & Harbour Festival
Seafood lovers are in for a treat on 17 and 18 September, as Plymouth Seafood & Harbour Festival returns to The Barbican and Sutton Harbour, sponsored by Eco-Plug Ltd.
Brought to you by the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, this free festival is a vibrant celebration of the incredible sustainably caught fresh fish and seafood on offer in Britain’s Ocean City. There will be plenty of fun activities for children to get involved with too, throughout the two days, there’s something for everyone.
It’s a brilliant opportunity to find out more about your local catch and learn from our amazing chefs, who will be cooking up a storm with fishy delights inspired from around the world. Visitors will be able to watch as some of the city’s top chefs create spectacular dishes in the cookery theatre which will be located on West Pier, by the Mayflower Steps, where you can soak up the festival atmosphere with some refreshments from the Venton’s Bar at West Pier.
Trader stalls will line The Parade, Quay Square and West Pier, selling delicious fresh dishes to enjoy on the day, as well as some special treats to take away.
See the trawler boats from Interfish, and find out about the fisherman’s experiences out on the ocean, and try some tasty samples of their local catch, from the Sound Seafood display.
There will be plenty of demonstration to explore, and activities to get involved in, plus games with important conservation messages.
On Saturday from Commercial Wharf you can take part or watch the IMECHE Cardboard Boat Race, where the winner is the last one to sink! And on Sunday there will be two performances from the Barbican Theatre who will be putting on a great family friendly comedy show. The Show is Shodyssey, by Assembleth a local Plymouth company.
