Lord Mayor’s Day

Each year, crowds gather at the Plymouth piazza to welcome to new Lord Mayor into their role. This annual event is popular with local residents and as well as an opportunity to meet the Lord Mayor, the event offers families a day packed with activities, live music and a parade.

This year’s theme will be based on the famous Sir Francis Chichester, best known for being the first and fastest person to sail around the globe single-handedly in The Gipsy Moth IV.

There will be a trail around the city centre for children to take part using their Lord Mayor’s Day leaflet. Collect the items used by Chichester, Sir Francis Drake and Captain Scott during their voyage’s and submit your leaflet to be in with a chance of winning:
