Pirate Weekend at National Marine Aquarium

13th May, 2017 - 14th May, 2017

Pirate Weekend is a favourite in the Plymouth event calendar. This year, the National Marine Aquarium (NMA) have teamed up with the organisers to offer exciting activities both in and around the aquarium. The following information has been provided by the fantastic team at NMA and Destination Plymouth.

Not only will there be Pirate themed fun for all on Plymouth’s Historic Barbican, but we’ll be going Pirate mad inside the Aquarium with a Pirate trail and special dive show! Not only that but any child wearing full pirate fancy dress will get into the Aquarium for free!

Josh McCarty, Head of Marketing, National Marine Aquarium said: “Ahoy me Hearties! As a charity invested in our oceans, we believe Pirate weekend is a great event for families, particularly given the heritage of our coastline and the seafaring history of Britain’s Ocean City. Our staff plus the many other organisations and businesses involved in the weekend really capture the imaginations of young minds and get them interested in our oceans. So come along for a great family day out, say argh to the pirates and ahh wow to the amazing marine animals we house. To mark the event children wearing full pirate fancy dress get into the Aquarium for free on 13 & 14 May.”

This year the NMA will also be sponsoring the beautiful Tall Ship the Johanna Lucretia, which will be docked in Sutton Harbour on Quay Square and is free for all to go aboard.
