We love the Seafood Festival, Plymouth has an incredible annual calendar and this is one of our favourites!
With the Plymouth Art Weekender, the Seafood Festival and our wonderful Wedding Collection, Plymouth is the place to be!

Plymouth Seafood Festival arrives this weekend for its 5th year and is set to bring The Barbican and Sutton Harbour alive with entertainment, activities and dishes to celebrate the city’s fantastic caught seafood.

Over the weekend there will be opportunities to watch inspirational regional and celebrity chefs, who will delight you with their tantalising dishes at the Cookery Theatre. An array of local food and craft stands and plenty of entertainment, activities and competitions for the entire family.

Highlights include:

Children’s Entertainment – Saturday, 11am – 4pm & Sunday, 11am – 3pm
Characters Ed & Cate will be on hand at the CATERed tasting stations, with balloons and fish / sea themed colouring sheets as well as a rolling programme of activities, to include decorating fish-shaped custard biscuits with icing & fruit, creating fish themed food-art with dried pulses, rice & pasta and help to design a new fishcake for the next school menu.

Dan the Fishman – Stand 1 Saturday and Sunday
Dan the Fishman and crew will be cooking up a storm with treats from the deep throughout the weekend. Taste the finest Devon lobsters, crabs and local sustainably sourced fish. Free children’s seafood cooking workshops will be on hand to keep the little ones entertained throughout the weekend. Come and visit his stand and share his fish magic and passion.

Crabbing Competition – Barbican Wharves (Commercial Wharf) Sunday 11am-3pm
Competitors will go head to head to see who can catch the largest crab and the most crabs in a bucket on Sunday 25. Check in at the Boathouse Café to enter the competition, the fee is £5 and includes the crab line, bait and bucket. Prizes will be awarded to the winner and the two runners up at the cookery stage at 4pm.

Catch of the Day and The Plymouth Fish Auction Cookery Theatre – Sunday from 2.45pm (approx.)
Ben Squires and his team from The Boathouse Café will be taking centre stage keeping the whole family entertained. Ben will showcase the catch of the day providing useful tips and educational information. Following after; and back for a 2nd year, The Plymouth Fish Auction will be on hand to bring you fresh fish caught by Ben that morning. Members of the public will have an opportunity to bid on the best fish the seas of the sound have to offer – 25% of the income generated will be given to the Fishermen’s Mission charity.
