A Spruce up for Spring

As a hotel, we are committed to ensuring that our beautiful city is looking its best ahead of the Mayflower 400 commemorations in 2020. In line with our pledge, you may have seen Ian and Bill restoring the exterior railings and lanterns towards the end of last year, sanding and giving them a fresh coat of paint (in all weathers might we add!).

The grand hotel frontage with its stunning period architecture offers guests a wow factor upon arrival, therefore it is important that it remains looking its best for all to enjoy. Walter and Jonathan, joint owners of the hotel operate a continual maintenance and refurbishment plan with the goal to return The Duke to its former glory. Over the years, this has included refurbishing all of our public spaces, a large number of the hotel’s 72 individually styled bedrooms and of course the hotel exterior.

We have shared several blog posts in the past, celebrating the hard work that goes into maintaining this magnificent building. These can be viewed by clicking below:

We think you will agree that the railings, in a deep green with gold accent, are now looking brighter and offer a wonderful welcome to guests. If you would like to get involved in the Make a Difference for Mayflower 400 campaign, click here for full details.
