All aboard! The Duke returns to West Hoe Fun Park

Tuesday 12th July, 2016|Category: News

Last year our Managing Director, Walter Combstock decided that the train and boat play equipment at West Hoe Fun Park needed a bit of TLC and that we were the people to make that happen! With the help of our handymen Bill and Al we got the much loved items back up to scratch…after completing this transformation the hotel agreed with Plymouth City Council that we would continue the upkeep and repaint the train and boat every year – we’ve kind of adopted them!

After a year of sailing around the world and some epic train adventures they both needed some love, not as much as last year though! So here we are one year later and as the sun came out for us last week we decided it was the perfect time for the team to get painting. With help from Plymouth City Councils Street Services team who cordoned off the area Bill and Al spent a happy two days painting and with the evening sun drying them beautifully they were soon sparkling and ready for another year of adventures; just in time for the summer holidays!

The Duke of Cornwall Hotel is committed to the environment and our sustainability, we are members of Green Tourism and encourage all of our guests and staff to join our journey.
