Plymouth History Festival

5th May, 2018 - 3rd June, 2018

The following information was provided by the organisers of the Plymouth History Festival, a wonderful event running between 5th May and 3rd June.

Plymouth History Festival is an annual celebration of Plymouth’s history and heritage and takes place across the city in a range of venues and locations. We look forward to welcoming you at one or more of the 100+ events on this year’s programme. Celebrating Plymouth is always the central theme for the festival. This year we’ll be exploring the themes of ‘War’, ‘Enlightenment’ and ‘Health’, marking important anniversaries linked to the Institution of Civil Engineers, the NHS and the RAF, and running a number of other events that focus on Plymouth’s amazing history and heritage.

As well as a range of exhibitions, displays, guided walks and tours, Plymouth History Festival offers some fantastic activities for families including a ‘Meet the Beekeper’ day on 6th May, where attendees can hear from local beekeeper Tim Payne at City Bees and find out about the ancient art of beekeeping.
