Fab Fireworks on the Hoe
Saturday 5th November 2016
From: 4:00 pm - Til: 9:00 pm
Once again Plymouth Hoe hosts the biggest Bonfire Night celebrations in the South West, well we think so anyway!
Thousands of people attend this highly anticipated occasion year after year, but for those of you who may not have been before, here is an idea of what you can expect…
The lights from the fair ground rides on the Hoe can be seen for miles around, creating an exciting atmosphere with lots of happy faces. The smell of candy floss and hot dogs fills the air, which coupled with live music from local bands gets the party started! As the night draws in, everyone is huddled around with coats zipped up, scarves and wooly hats on, anticipating the lighting of the bonfire at 7.30pm.
Small children sit on their parents shoulders to see over the crowds and ensure they have the best view! The firework display starts at 8pm and from previous years we know that the sky will light up with every colour and we love watching the reflection on the waters of the historic Plymouth sound.
For those of you wanting to make a weekend of it, why not book into the hotel where at the end of the night, a short walk will bring you back to the warmth and hospitality of the Duke. Enjoy a night cap in the Lounge with the fire roaring, a comfy bed and complementary breakfast the following morning. What better way to finish a spectacular evening.
