On Thursday 18th October 2018, we hosted our fourth ‘Duke Mini Wedding Collection’. Our increasingly popular Mini Collections are aimed to help engaged couples on their journey to finding their dream wedding venue. We dressed the hotel for a wedding, allowing couples the chance to gather wedding inspiration whilst seeing how the Duke could look for their big day. It also provides the perfect opportunity to meet our experienced team and some of the fantastic suppliers who we work with on a regular basis.

We are delighted to be finalists in the South West Wedding Awards, the most prestigious wedding awards in the region. We were shortlisted along with four other establishments in the South West for the award of Wedding Venue – Town. Congratulations to the winner of this category, China Fleet Country Club! 2019 promises to be a corker as we get closer to the launch of the Mayflower 400 commemorations in November. Before that we have the annual calendar to entertain us with so many fantastic events happening across the city. For us a family favourite is Pirate Weekend – it gets bigger and better every year and it is definitely worth booking a weekend away if you’re not local. The Duke’s qualities as a business venue have been recognised with a prestigious regional award. We’ve received the bronze in our category at the 2018 Devon Tourism Awards, which was held at Highbullen Hotel in Umberleigh last night.
This accolade was for the Business Tourism and Venue category, which selects corporate settings that deliver “an exceptional standard of service and an outstanding, memorable experience”. This achievement makes it two-in-a-row for the Duke – we also won bronze in the same category last year.
